THE STORY OF THE AAW CREATORS
Behind every man & women lies many untold stories that can teach & inspire us to do great things everyday & make the most of our lives. This space is dedicated to the original three Co-Creators (Venomous Ed, WhistleBackWisp & Glacier Ange1) to tell their story of how they got to AAW, what made AAW special to them, their accomplishments & anything else they want to say.
To be added soon!
Heyya, I'm Adam AKA Glacier Ange1. I got into wrestling around 2002-2003 & my first memorable match was Brock Lesnar Vs Kurt Angle in the Ironman Match on Smackdown. I was instantly hooked & have been a fan ever since watching most of the shows & playing the games as a kid. My favourite game of all time is WWF No Mercy & WCW/nWo Revenge for the Nintendo 64, the graphics for the time were impressive & more importantly the level of fun in the gameplay was outstanding.
Fast forward to 2012, I got into the world of online gaming where I tested myself against other players & did well enough to get signed up by a league which was my first online wrestling experience. I even made the logo for them (of which I was never credited for) but more importantly I met Venomous Ed there, who was being mistreated as well at the time by the higher powers. We soon decided enough was enough & it was time for a change in the words of the immortal Owen Hart. We created AAW with the intent to try & create something more wholesome & cut out as much of drama that comes with that atmosphere.
While it wasn't perfect, considering it was our first time creating a league I think we did really well at the time & as the years passed we all grew up with a piece of AAW in our hearts. My favourite AAW moment, Ahhh I think.. I think I gotta go with my first World Title Win in 2017.
I was the last one of the original trio to win the world title & it took me playing for a few years before finally getting my breakout moment which turned me from an underdog who never really won any titles, coming close but never reaching it at that point to the one who owned the yard & then had this period of time where it became in my view at least AAW's "Arctic Age".
I also have to say being inducted into the Hall of Fame the following year by the roster was a humbling achievement as well & really goes to show, you reap what you sow, keep putting in the hard work in my case in the ring & outside of it with management duties, be respectful but hold your ground when needed & it'll be worth it in the end.
As for why I came back, AAW has always had a special place in my heart in one form or another, whether as a fighter or a promoter. Today I'm here to two things, create a place for fans of wrestling to come to & wrap up my career on a high note. The future has many mysteries but "The Iceman" is ready for whatever comes my way in the ring. Stay tuned folks & as always STAY FROSTY!
